Account and data deletion instructions
Quick summary: All Lean Machine data is stored only on your device — we don't have servers. To delete your account, use the in-app "Reset Everything" feature or uninstall the app. There's no server-side data to remove.
How Lean Machine stores your data
Lean Machine is a "local-first" app. Your account, profile, weight log, workouts, photos, and all other data are stored in your device's browser storage (localStorage). The Lean Machine publisher does not operate any servers and never has access to your data.
Option 1: Delete your account from inside the app (recommended)
This is the cleanest way to remove your account and all associated data:
- Open Lean Machine on your device
- Sign in to the account you want to delete
- Tap your user-initial badge in the top-right corner of the app
- Select Reset Everything from the menu
- Confirm the deletion when prompted (this is irreversible)
This deletes:
- Your username and password hash
- All profile data (age, sex, height, weight, goals)
- Your weight log entries
- Workout history
- Schedule check-ins
- All photos in your gallery
- Your saved Anthropic API key (if any)
Option 2: Delete all accounts on the device
If you have multiple accounts on the same device and want to wipe everything at once:
- On the Lean Machine login screen, tap Forgot password
- Confirm both warning dialogs
- All accounts and all data on the device are permanently erased
Option 3: Uninstall the app
Uninstalling Lean Machine through your device's app settings removes all stored data automatically. Android removes the app's storage when you uninstall it.
On Android: Settings → Apps → Lean Machine → Uninstall
What is deleted vs. retained
Everything is deleted. Because Lean Machine has no server, there is no retained data anywhere after you complete deletion. We can't recover it, and neither can anyone else. There is no retention period.
About AI analysis data
If you used the AI Coach features, your data was sent directly from your device to Anthropic's Claude API at the time of analysis. We do not store or retain that data. Anthropic's handling of API requests is governed by their privacy policy: anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
